This project is as unique as the Owner. The building itself is an artistic expression and statement, designed to house, store, display and support production of the client's artwork. Meant to look 100 years old, its familiar urban turn-of-the-century form in a wild, undeveloped setting sets the tension for the artistic expression.
Design collaboration was led by Colin Baden, a past partner of the firm. Lewis Architecture + Interior Design provided technical design support, agency coordination and construction review.
The building uses old brick, inside and out, limestone coping and trim and has firegrain hardwood maple floors stained to match the orange-tint color of an old master's violin. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, data systems and lighting - an experience right out of Myst and Riven.
